Build a Transportation PlanThis year, the Safe Mobility for Life Coalition is partnering with AARP Florida to host an Older Driver Safety Awareness Day in-person event on December 6 at the Claude Pepper Center in Tallahassee, Florida. This event will also be live-streamed for those outside the area to help raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by aging Floridians plus provide valuable information on how to be proactive about safe driving skills.

Celebrate Older Driver Safety Awareness Week Dec. 4-8, 2023
The Florida Department of Transportation's Safe Mobility for Life Coalition wants to share the message "#YouHoldtheKeys" with Floridians, encouraging them to take control of their transportation future. This empowering message is developed to help older adults be proactive about safe driving skills and build a plan to maintain quality of life beyond the driver’s seat.
Florida’s Safe Mobility for Life Coalition is partnering with organizations nationwide to celebrate Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, December 4 – 8, 2023. During this week, the Coalition will be sharing information and working with partners across the state to help improve the safety, access, and mobility of Florida’s aging population. On December 6, 2023, the Coalition is hosting an inaugural Older Driver Safety Awareness Day in partnership with AARP Florida. This hybrid event will be held in-person at the Pepper Center at Florida State University and will also be live-streamed in an effort to help educate more people across the state. Expert panelists will share useful information and resources to help attendees understand the impact aging has on driving, how to be proactive about safe driving skills, and transportation planning to benefit older adults and their families or caregivers.
