Achieving zero fatalities and serious injuries will require everyone working together. Through the support of people like you, the Coalition can share our available resources with those who need them most. Connecting Florida’s aging road users with Safe Mobility for Life supports safe driving skills and helps them achieve mobility independence so they can continue to get around their communities whether they are driving or not.

A 2020 FDOT survey of Florida’s aging road users showed 72% of participants strongly agreed that driving is central to their independence. During Older Driver Safety Awareness Week, the Safe Mobility for Life Coalition will bring awareness to mobility independence and the resources available to address the transportation challenges faced by older adults.
We all are responsible for starting the conversation about safe driving and learning about the natural age-related changes that can impact those skills. With the right resources, Floridians can better understand the impact aging has on driving, be proactive about safe driving skills, and plan for a safe transition from driving. Participate and help spread the word by visiting fdot.tips/ODSAW22.
