TIP
Both Uber and Lyft allow you to hail a ride
from a desktop computer by visiting their mobile
site. You can find this by placing an “m” instead
of the “www”. For example, “m.lyft.com.”
Sharing Rides as a Transportation Option
Sharing rides with family, friends, and/or caregivers
might not work in every situation. The questions below
will help you identify times that it might be a good
transportation option to get around your community.
▶ Do you have family or friends that go to the same
places you go?
» Carpool to places you both visit or enjoy.
» Ask if they can drop you off on their way to
somewhere else.
▶ Do friends or family often offer to give you a ride?
» When someone offers to give you a ride, consider
accepting their generosity. This may demonstrate
to them that you may need a ride more often.
